JR Photographic Retouching Macros V4 (Affinity Photo)

A collection of macros designed for photographic retouching workflows (but equally usable for any image editing workflow).

Please note: these macros are only compatible with Affinity Photo V2 and above, as they take advantage of functionality not present in V1. You will receive an "Unexpected Macros Format" error message if you try and install the .afmacros files into V1.

It includes workflow aids such as a set of luminosity masked curves adjustments, automatic painting layer set ups, shadow contrast enhancement, local contrast and texture enhancement, various matte looks, dust spot highlighting for subsequent retouching, landscape and sky tonal separation and more.

New to version 4:

• Faded Matte Effect: Provides another option for achieving a matte black effect using Lighten blending.
• Laplacian Structure Enhancement: Uses a laplacian pyramid technique to generate multiple detail maps which are then blended to enhance detail in the image.
• Super Grit: Creates a strong textural and stylised structure enhancement effect.
• Gaussian Clarity: Similar to Laplacian Structure Enhancement, but flattens out contrast more and highlights smaller edge details.
• Gaussian Difference Structure Enhancement: Enhances brightness selectively in detail regions using a DoG (Difference of Gaussians) technique.
• Gaussian Shadow Enhancement: Enhances shadow detail using a subtractive Gaussian Blur technique.
• Shadow Contour Enhancement: A more advanced version of Gaussian Shadow Enhancement that enhances shadow detail locally around distinct edges.
• Subtle Contouring: Produces a really nice softening effect by enhancing local contrast detail on a low-pass copy of the image.
• Enhance Structure & Contrast: Performs structure and local contrast enhancement simultaneously, giving the image much more texture.
• Multi-Bandpass Sharpening: Uses a frequency decomposition technique to gradually enhance details in a very natural and pleasing way. These options are present in my Sharpening macros, but I have copied them into the Photographic Retouching macros for convenience.
• Revised the PDF readme to use a fully white background and black text: it’s now printer friendly!
